Tuffy: Consumer Advocate

The Strib ran an info-graphic on the front page of the Source section today regarding shipping rates for parcels.

The paper checked 1, 2, and 3+ day rates from USPS, UPS, and FedEx.

Here's the rule of thumb that the Strib article came to:
--If it needs to be there ASAP, use USPS.
--If it can wait, use FedEx.
--Skip UPS altogether.

Happy shipping from your friends at The Fog of Work!

Do you know what the original "rule of thumb" was?

Enlighten us, Smithers!

I usually ship USPS Priority mail. It's almost always cheapest, and it usually gets there just as fast (if not faster) than FedEx or UPS. Perhaps the only downside of shipping USPS is that they don't offer tracking to show you WHY your USPS package will arrive before your FedEx will.

From what I've seen, the "rule of thumb" thing was a total hoax.
